Answers to Frequently Asked Questions to Help You Design Your Own Custom Baseball Cap


1) How Much Does it cost to get a Cap made?

Because each baseball cap is customized to your specifications, the price of your order will depend on the following:

A good quality 100% cotton cap with 5 letters can cost as little as US$17.00. That same cap with a lot of letters and graphics, sewn on the front as well as graphics or letters on the side or back can cost as much as US$30-$40. The record for one baseball cap is US$96.00 (Click here to see Rob's own team logo that we custom digitized for him)...but on average a single custom cap costs about US$18 - $25.

We begin Discounting when you order 6 identical caps. Our system will automatically post a 10% discount to orders of 6-11 identical caps. The good stuff really starts when you order 12+ caps. Each inquiry for 12+ caps is reviewed by our staff who will contact you by e-mail with special pricing discounts. Unlike some places that price only by formula, we take into account what you specifically want on your caps and will price your order accordingly.


2) How do I know what my cap will cost when I place an order?

Before you actually place an order, you'll fill out our Custom Cap Pricing Calculator . This form will guide you through the whole process of designing your cap - from cap style, to fonts, colors, graphics, quanitity, etc. When you submit the form, our system will automatically e-mail you with the price for your order and instructions on how to place the order. If you are pricing from 1-11 caps, you'll usually receive the e-mail from us within 5 minutes. If you are pricing 12+ caps or caps with your own graphic or logo, our staff will review your inquiry and generally get back to you within 24 hours.

Once you receive our e-mail with the price for your cap(s), it's up to you to decide if you want to place the order. Our e-mail will have a link to our secure server where you can enter your credit card information.

Orders are placed by:

1) entering your crdit card information through our secure server, or
2) faxing (508.664.0215) or calling in (508.349.1300) your VISA, Mastercard or Eurocard number.

Once you submit your credit card info, our staff will get to work designing your cap and will send you a GIF of your design to approve before we actually begin the embroidery.

3) What is your return policy?

We sell both blank and custom embroidered caps.

Our Blank Cap return policy is as follows:

Orders of less than 12 caps may be returned without a return authorization. All returned caps must be in their original condition and must be received by us within 15 days of receiving your merchandise. We will issue a full refund, less shipping charges, for items returned in their original condition. When you return an item, be sure to include a note with your name, address, email address and order number (print out the email if you kept it!).
Orders of more than 12 caps (unless defective) are subject to a 15% restocking fee and you will need a return authorization. Simply email us at
capstore@copycaps.com, give us your name, address, order number and explain why you want to return the caps. We'll email you back a return authorization and instructions.
The above return policy applies only to blank caps that have not been embroidered.

Our Custom Embroidered Cap return policy is as follows:

We work very hard to custom embroider exactly what you request. Before we custom embroider any order (excluding caps ordered from our Quick Picks Collection) we will email you a GIF of an embroidery simulation that will give you a good idea of what your design will look like when it is stitched. In that email, we will explain the design to you and offer you the opportunity to approve the design or request modifications. That's the time to check all spelling, colors, ask about proper fit, etc. Once you approve the design, we will process your payment and embroider the cap.

Generally, custom embroidered caps may only be returned if we made a mistake and accidentally did not emborider the design you approved (this rarely happens) or accidentally embroidered your design onto the wrong cap (again, rarely happens).

If the cap doesn't fit - it cannot be returned. We NEVER describe any of our caps as "One Size Fits All" - that's why we carry different sizes and styles. If you have a concern about proper fit - ask us. We'll be happy to work with you to select a cap that we think will fit.

If there's a problem with your cap - email us and explain the problem.
We're reasonable folks, we quickly answer email,
and will try our best to rectify the situation.


4) Do You Have Caps With a Cloth Strap?

You bet we do! We also have the classic plastic clips. Some caps even have leather straps. Others have a really sweet Velcro backed fabric strap. And we have the Flex-Fit (both structured and unstructured) that looks like a fitted caps and fits like a dream!


5) Do You Carry Fitted Caps?

For orders of 24+ caps, we can special order exact fit caps (the ones that are size 7, 7 5/8, etc. For smaller orders, we found something better. All of a sudden one day, we discovered that the average head was... well average. Once we knew this fact, we decided to carry the Flexfit cap from Yuoopong. These caps have a solid back and look just like a classic fitted cap. The Flexfits are made from brushed cotton with 2% spandex that adjusts itself to your head. They are available in two styles, a traditional high crown, classic pro baseball cap style or a new, unstructured low crown style. Flexfits are considered to be "one size fits many" and if you have the average melon, consider a Flexfit.


6) Do you have the Cleveland Browns hats?

Well, for one thing, if we carried team caps, we would have Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. But... we do not carry licensed goods. That includes all major league sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA) and colleges and universities. Furthermore, we cannot do graphics such as Mickey Mouse, the Olympics, etc. because they are licensed (copyrighted). We take license infringement very seriously and will not endanger our business by doing anything illegal.

7) Will You Put Anything On A Cap?

As long as it's not licensed, copyrighted, or really mean and hateful. So...if you want to walk around with a 4-letter word on your head, we'll sell it to you. Hell, we're capitalists and it's your head, not ours. Of course if you do order a cap with a 4-letter word, we'll do our best to make it tastefull and cool looking.


8) Can you scan my business card and put my logo on a cap? Or can I send you an original drawing...

Sure...we can do that. For details, check out our explanation at Your Own Logo. Then be sure to fill out our Custom Logo Pricing Inquiry to send us your design and determine the price for your order.


9) What color thread can you use for my design?

There are approximately 130 different shades and colors to choose from. We give you a choice of the most common colors right on our order forms. If there is a specific color you want, let us know in the comments section of the order form. If we have to special order threads for your order (this only happens in very rare instances), there is a minimum charge of $12.00 per color and the total charge will depend on the number of caps you are ordering. All of this can be discussed with us via e-mail.


10) What do you do anyway, are these transfers or patches?

Nope, these aren't cheesy transfers or patches. The designs are embroidered right into the front, sides or back of the cap. Embroidery is done by a state-of-the-art, 10 needle computerized embroidery machines.


11) When Will it Be Done?

Completion time varies depending on the number of caps you order and the complexity of the design. On average, we get orders of less than 12 caps made and out the door within 48 hours. If you're in a rush, let us know and we'll do our best to accomodate you. During the holiday season, we'll post order deadlines on our website to help you plan accordingly. We're proud to say that since 1995, we have never missed a deadline.


12) How Do You Ship?

We use UPS or US Postal Service Priority Mail.
If you enter a PO Box for your address, by default we will use Priority Mail to ship your order.

For International orders we use the Air Mail (small orders), FedEx or UPS.

If you need a cap the next day, we'll be happy to overnight it to you. If you would like to ship your order collect, on your own UPS or FedEX account, just let us know and provide us with your account number.

Shipping charges start at $4.95 for a single cap shipped anywhere in the world.


Please remember - if you are outside of the US, you are responsible for any
customs import duties that will be collected upon delivery of your order.
